Italy agrees long term programme of implementing children’s heart surgery across Libya

Libya’s Department of Support and Development of Medical Services (DSDMS) signed a healthcare memorandum of understanding yesterday with the CEO of Qatar Investment Holding Company (Elegancia).

The MoU aims to develop training and rehabilitation mechanisms for several government hospitals in various Libyan cities, thus contributing to enhancing the quality of health services and expanding their scope.

The Tripoli government said the MoU is based on the decision of the Prime Minister Abdel Hamid Aldabaiba No. 530 of 2024 and comes within the framework of its vision to improve the quality of health services.

It will be recalled that in December 2024, the DSDMS signed a memorandum of understanding with the same company in the Qatari capital, Doha, to manage and operate Misrata Hospital for Cardiovascular Diseases and Surgery, as part of continuous efforts to upgrade the health sector in the country.
