Decree authorises contracting with Qatari Elegancia Healthcare to operate 6 Libyan health facilities for 15 years

Italy agrees long term programme of implementing children’s heart surgery across Libya

Libya’s Tripoli based Libyan Prime Minister, Abdel Hamid Aldabaiba, issued a decision (No. 530 of 2024) authorising the Department of Support and Development of Medical Services (DSDMS) to contract with Qatar’s Elegancia Healthcare Company to operate several health facilities in the country for a period of 15 years.

According to the Libyan state news agency LANA on Sunday 27 October, the decision contracts Elegancia for a period of 15 years to manage and operate 6 health facilities. These are: Tripoli University Hospital, Zuwara Central Hospital, Zliten Teaching Hospital, Ajilat General Hospital, Misrata Medical Centre, Misrata Specialized Centre for the Treatment of Heart and Arteries.

LANA reported that a technical team from Elegancia Company had conducted field visits to the hospitals that it will contract to operate during the past few days and prepared comprehensive reports on their needs.
