Italian medical team conducts spinal deformities operations at Misrata Medical Centre

Italy agrees long term programme of implementing children’s heart surgery across Libya

The visiting medical team of specialists from Italy conducted operations to correct spinal deformities and curvatures for a segment of muscular dystrophy patients.

The operations, which were all reportedly successful, were conducted under the supervision and follow-up of the Department of Support and Development of Medical Services (DSDMS)

The surgical operations were carried out in cooperation with national medical staff inside Misrata Medical Centre for registered and pre-filtered cases coming from various cities in Libya.

The DSDMS says this comes within the framework of its plan to support such operations within the Tripoli based Libyan government’s project to localise treatment within the country instead of patients having to travel abroad.
