The Department of Support and Development of Medical Services (DSDMS) reported Monday that a visiting specialist medical team arrived from Germany specializing in neurosurgery, spinal deformities, and congenital malformations.

The team began performing surgical operations at Misrata Medical Centre according to the cases registered with the DSDMS’s branch offices responsible for receiving citizens’ treatment requests.

The DSDMS reported that the visit will continue until the end of this week, during which the German team will aim to perform 15 surgical operations, at a rate of 3 operations per day.

Training of Libyan doctors
The operations will be conducted in the presence of several Libyan doctors to train and qualify them to perform delicate operations related to brain and nerve surgeries, spinal deformities, and congenital anomalies.

Localisation of treatment
The German medical team’s visit comes within the framework of the Tripoli Libyan government’s work localising treatment within Libya saving citizens and the state inconvenience and money.
