Libya is discussing handing over hospitals to the Saudi German Hospitals Group to operate and manage.
The news was revealed on Thursday after the head of the Department of Support and Development of Medical Services (DSDMS), Ahmed Militan, met in his Tripoli office with the Director of the Saudi German Hospitals Group in Egypt and North Africa, Mohamed Lutfi.
The DSDMS reported that several other matters were discussed, including the debts incurred by Libyan patients in affiliated hospitals to the Saudi German Hospitals Group in Cairo.
A programme for training human cadres to transfer medical expertise was also discussed.
The DSDMS said the operation and management of Libyan hospitals by the Group is part of the DSDMS’s 2024 strategic plan.
