Tripoli’s Al-Hadba Al-Khadra General Hospital announced last Tuesday (24 March) that it had, for the first time, performed a procedure to insert battery implants into a patient for the treatment of Parkinson’s disease.
The hospital reported that the procedure was conducted under the supervision and sponsorship of the Department of Support and Development of Medical Services (DSDMS), as part of the programme of localization of treatment inside the country.
The hospital said these procedures are precision interventions that contribute to improving the quality of life of patients and reflect the level of progress witnessed by local health institutions in providing advanced treatment services in accordance with modern medical standards.
The implementation of this step, it added, comes as a confirmation of the continuous efforts to enhance the efficiency of the health sector, support national cadres, and provide quality treatment services inside the country, in a way that reduces the need for treatment abroad.
