The Tripoli based Libyan Ministry of Health reported today that its Minister of Health, Mohamed Al-Ghou,j met with the Ambassador of China to Libya, Ma Xu liang, to discuss ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation in key areas for health sector development.
The meeting focused on initiatives that contribute to improving the quality of health services and enhancing the efficiency of the healthcare system.
Discussions covered prospects for cooperation in health governance, digital transformation, the development of telemedicine systems, and the utilization of modern technologies—including surgical robotics. Additionally, the meeting addressed support for training programmes, capacity building for medical and technical staff, and the transfer of Chinese expertise and experience in these fields.
Both sides emphasized the importance of expanding the partnership between the two nations to support the Ministry of Health’s efforts to modernize the health sector and integrate modern technologies into service delivery, aligning with global advancements.
The Chinese Ambassador, the Ministry reported, also reiterated his appreciation for what he observed during his recent visit to Al-Hadba Al-Khadra General Hospital, commending the hospital's organization and development.
He affirmed his country's readiness to support cooperation with Libyan health institutions, thereby contributing to the advancement of health services and the strengthening of bilateral relations.
