Transport Ministry meets Japanese company North Star interested in investing in Libya

The Tripoli based Ministry of Transport reported yesterday that the Joint High Committee for the Two Strategic Transit Roads Project (Misrata – Tamanhint – Agadez (Niger), and Benghazi – Kufra – Sudan) held its first meeting at the Tripoli headquarters of the Ministry yesterday.

The meeting comes within implementation of Cabinet Resolution No. 535 of 2024 which authorises the Libya Africa Investment Portfolio to contract with specialised consulting offices to prepare economic, technical and planning feasibility studies for the project.

It also allows it to offer the project for investment on a Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) system, or through partnerships with national and international companies.‎

‎During the meeting, the Ministry reported, several executive measures were taken for the tasks assigned to the committee, the most important of which is the start of preparing the work plan and forming subcommittees.‎
