Libya’s Privatisation & Investment Board (PIB) received a delegation from the Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Anatolian Business Council.

This was the second visit by a delegation from the Bursa Chamber of Commerce and the Anatolian Business Council.

The delegation included representatives from several Turkish companies and aimed to explore opportunities for economic and investment cooperation and strengthen partnerships between the Turkish and Libyan business sectors.

The meeting was attended by Nasser Najm, Chairman of the PIB, Mahmoud Al-Maouj, Director of the Promotion Department, and Ahmed Al-Oraibi, Director of the Investment Department. The meeting addressed the prospects for Turkish companies entering the Libyan market and capitalizing on available investment opportunities across various sectors.

The two sides reviewed several economic and investment sectors of current importance, including:

·       Electricity and lighting projects

·       Elevators and escalators

·       Medical services and supplies

·       Packaging and single-use products

·       Soilless farming technologies

They also discussed opportunities to participate in ongoing reconstruction, development, and infrastructure projects in Benghazi and other Libyan cities.

PIB Chairman Najm emphasized the importance of strengthening economic and investment cooperation between Libya and Turkey. He noted the expertise and capabilities of Turkish companies in several sectors and the promising opportunities currently available to investors and companies wishing to enter the Libyan market and participate in development and reconstruction projects.

He also explained that the PIB is working to facilitate procedures for investors, inform foreign companies about available investment opportunities in Libya, and provide the necessary information and data, thereby contributing to building genuine and sustainable partnerships between foreign investors and the Libyan private sector.

For his part, the Director of the Investment Department, Ahmed Al-Oraibi, reviewed several available investment opportunities and projects, emphasizing the importance of moving from simply identifying opportunities to establishing actual projects and partnerships that contribute to localizing industries and services and transferring expertise and technologies to the Libyan market.

The PIB said this meeting comes within the framework of its efforts to expand international cooperation, attract foreign investment, and open direct channels with the international business community.

This supports the implementation of investment projects, contributes to diversifying the national economy, and strengthens the role of the private sector in Libya's development and reconstruction.
