Libya’s Tripoli based Interior Minister, Major General Imad Al-Trabelsi, met with Wang Xiaohong, the Minister of Public Security of China, during the opening of the 2026 Global Public Security Cooperation Forum in Lianyungang, China from 8 to 10 September.
The forum will witness the participation of a number of delegations from more than 147 countries, senior officials in law enforcement agencies, representatives of international organizations, as well as a group of experts and academics in the security fields.
The meeting with Wang Xiaohong involved an exchange of views on various issues of mutual interest and a discussion on ways to activate and strengthen security cooperation between the two countries.
Additionally, the two sides reviewed prospects for advancing security operations and leveraging expertise, experience, and modern technologies to bolster the capabilities of security agencies and enhance security and law enforcement efforts.
Latest security technologies & equipment at accompanying exhibition
Trabelsi also conducted an inspection tour inside the exhibition accompanying the forum's activities, to see the latest technologies and equipment used in the security and police fields.
During the tour, the Minister was briefed on several advanced technical equipment and solutions, including personal protective equipment, police equipment, and drones dedicated to carrying out search, rescue, surveillance, reconnaissance and counter-terrorism missions, in addition to the latest secure communication systems, information technology and artificial intelligence technologies and their applications in the development of security work.
The Interior Ministry said the tour comes within its framework to follow up on the rapid developments in the fields of security technology, learn about modern international experiences, and benefit from advanced technologies in a way that contributes to raising the efficiency of the security agencies and enhancing their capabilities in facing emerging security challenges and threats.
