Brega Petroleum Marketing Company reported that fuel receipt and distribution operations are continuing around the clock across various operational sites.
This comes as Libya has been suffering a fuel crisis this summer compounded by the power cuts. Although some cities, including Tripoli, are faring better, some areas in both western and eastern Libya are still witnessing long petrol queues.
The company stated that the total volume of petrol drawn by distribution companies from Tripoli Seaport over the past 24 hours reached 11.955 million litres.
At the Zawia Oil Depot, withdrawals totalled approximately 1.11 million litres of petrol and 773,400 litres of diesel. Additionally, 42 stations in the West Coast and Mountain regions were supplied with an extra 940,000 litres of petrol and 240,000 litres of diesel, while the Southern Region received 750,000 litres of fuel.
In Misrata, the depot aims to distribute approximately 5 million litres of petrol and 2 million litres of diesel on Friday, to distribution company stations and Brega stations. This is in addition to supplying 500,000 litres of diesel to the Misrata Power Plant—all part of a continuous 24-hour operational programme coinciding with the offloading of the tanker TURKELI.
Brega added that the tanker MT SARIYAH has docked at the oil terminal in Tobruk’s Al-Hariga Port, carrying approximately 32,000 metric tons of petrol to bolster supplies for the Eastern Region. This coincides with fuel deliveries to the city of Derna from the Tobruk depot and ongoing offloading and distribution operations at various locations.
