The Libyan Export Development Authority (LEDA) announced today the arrival of a new shipment of portable, battery-powered electric olive harvesters, available at a subsidised price of 1,000 Libyan dinars.

It said this comes as part of its efforts in support of the olive sector and to bolster national industry.

LEDA said these machines are available to olive press owners and farmers through its headquarters and its branches in Zawia, Misrata, Tarhuna, Sebha, Jufra, and Benghazi.

Payment can be made by bank card. The machines will be available starting Sunday, August 23, 2026.

It said the labour cost for this phase is 7 Libyan dinars, according to farmers who benefited from the machines last year.
