The Tripoli based Libyan Minister of Transport, Mohamed Al-Shahoubi, is seeking to activate Libya’s Transit Roads to Niger and Sudan.
The Tripoli based Libyan government reported on Wednesday (4 December) that Transport Minister, Mohamed Al-Shahoubi, met with the Chairman of the Libya Africa Investment Portfolio (LAIP) and the Chairman of Oil Libya, in the presence of the Chairman of the Land Transport Authority, the Deputy Director of the Alternative Road Management and Operation Centre (Musaed – Ras Jadir), and the Director of the Planning Department of LAIP.
The meeting discussed ways to activate Cabinet Resolution No. 535 of 2024, which includes studying and implementing the Misrata-Tamanhint-Agadez Transit Road and the Benghazi-Kufra-Sudan transit road.
The meeting also touched on the study of service routes, which aim to facilitate and stimulate transit trade, thus contributing to strengthening the national economy and increasing Libyan GDP.
This comes, the Tripoli government reported, as part of its wider efforts to support infrastructure and develop the transport sector.
