Harouge Oil Operations reported yesterday that it had successfully completed the drilling and commissioning of replacement well B79A, bringing it online on 28 Augus.
The well’s execution is part of the company’s 2026 plan to boost production capacity—being one of six wells approved for development under this initiative. Following its startup, the well underwent testing using a test separator on 30 August.
Results indicated a production rate of approximately 2,000 barrels of crude oil per day with a 4% water cut, confirming the targeted operational outcomes.
The company said the successful completion of this well reflects the efficiency of the technical and engineering teams in executing drilling and commissioning operations in accordance with approved technical specifications and the established timeline for the production capacity expansion plan.
