At an extravagant event ceremony yesterday, the opening ceremony of the new-loom University of Benghazi took place, following the completion of the comprehensive rehabilitation and development project carried out by the Libya Development and Reconstruction Fund.
The university had suffered extensive damage during Benghazi’s wars.
The initiative is part of the Fund's strategic projects to upgrade higher education infrastructure and provide an integrated university environment befitting the university's stature, history, and its academic and national role.
The ceremony included the Speaker of the House of Representatives (HoR), Ageela Saleh, the First Deputy Speaker of theHoR, Fawzi Al-Nuwairi, the Second Deputy Misbah Douma, and the Prime Minister of the eastern based Libyan Government Osama Hammad, and the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar.
