The House of Representatives voted in its historic, first-ever, session held in the city of Sebha today to accept the resignation of the former Governor of the Central Bank of Libya (CBL), Naji Issa, and to appoint Fawzi Abu Khazam as the new Governor of the CBL.
The vote was carried with a majority of 78 out of the 90 members present, the official HoR Speaker reported.
Abu Khazam has been acting as Interim Governor since his controversial forced installment on 22 October.
The session was chaired by the Speaker of the House, Al-Salheen Abdel-Nabi.
