For the second consecutive year, the Tarragona Chamber of Commerce is organising a multisector business mission to Tripoli, with the support of the Economic and Commercial Office of the Embassy of Spain in Libya and the Tripoli Chamber of Commerce. The mission is taking place from 6 to 9 September.

The programme will include a series of business-to-business meetings between Spanish and Libyan companies aimed at identifying new business opportunities, exploring potential synergies and complementary areas of expertise, and fostering new commercial partnerships. The Spanish delegation includes companies from a diverse range of sectors, including food, tobacco and electrical equipment.

The initiative seeks to strengthen economic and trade relations between Spain and Libya and build on the closer ties established in recent years. A key milestone in this process was the Spanish-Libyan Business Forum held in Madrid last April and organised by the Spanish Chamber of Commerce and the General Union of Libyan Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture. The event attracted strong business participation, highlighting the growing interest among Spanish companies in the Libyan market and the opportunities it offers.

This week’s mission reflects the growing engagement between the two countries and their shared commitment to developing closer and more stable economic cooperation. The launch of a direct air link between Tripoli and Madrid is another sign of this positive momentum, facilitating travel, business contacts and the development of new joint projects.
