The Hafter-controlled National Development Agency (NDA) announced yesterday the start of construction work on the “Palm City” (New Sabha) project, which it said is one of the most prominent residential projects overseen by the NDA, in a move that it says reflects a genuine transformation in urban development in the southern region.
The NDA said this project is seen as a new phase in which Sabha is no longer merely a city awaiting development, but a hub of activity and construction, witnessing the launch of major projects that are reshaping its urban landscape. This comes, the NDA added, after the establishment of security and stability, allowing efforts to focus on comprehensive development and improving the quality of life.
106 residential buildings with a total of approximately 3,000 housing units
The project includes the construction of 106 residential buildings with a total of approximately 3,000 housing units. The first phase aims to construct this number of buildings as part of a well-considered plan to provide housing gradually and systematically, according to modern architectural designs that meet the requirements of contemporary urban planning.
The NDA said that it hopes that “Palm City” will be a true starting point for addressing the housing crisis, especially for young people, by providing integrated housing units that contribute to achieving social stability and enhance opportunities for a decent life within the city.
The NDA added that the project is not just housing units, but an integrated development project that reflects a clear trend towards building modern cities in the south, where change is no longer limited to security only, but has extended to include development, construction and building the future, in a scene that confirms that the south today is living a new stage whose title is giving and building.
