The Libyan Health Care Exhibition 2023 will be held in June with the participation of 450 local and international companies

The 15th Libyan Health Care Exhibition 2023 will be held from 5-8 June at Tripoli International Fairgrounds. The event is the largest gathering of health experts and those involved in this field, including decision makers and providers of medical services and supplies. More than 450 local and international exhibiting companies and thousands of professional visitors from all over the world will participate.

In this regard, the President of the General Union of Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture, Mohamed Al-Raied, confirmed to Libya Herald that this edition will be a prominent event within specialized exhibitions that is being sponsored with the participation of the Union of Chambers of Commerce and several governmental and private institutions. This edition will be distinguished with wide international and local participation by several companies specialized in health care, medical equipment and machines, medicines, and advanced therapeutic technologies.

Important in the localisation of healthcare
Al-Raied highlighted the importance of this exhibition in the development of the health sector in Libya and the localization of treatment by supplying modern medical devices and equipment from developed countries. It will also help bring professional medical personnel from abroad, and train national cadres of doctors, nurses and technicians in an advanced medical training centre.

Millions spent by Libyans abroad
The Chambers’ head stressed the need for concerted efforts of all public and private health authorities in order to localize treatment at home after developing local health facilities to stop the fatigue suffered by the Libyan patient in treatment abroad, with millions of dollars incurred in losses in hospitals in neighbouring countries and other countries that the Libyan patient visits for treatment.

Private sector as healthcare provider
Al-Raied said that the Union of Chambers of Commerce seeks, in cooperation with government agencies specialized in the health field, to further integrate the private sector in providing health services to citizens and residents with high quality and competitive prices. This is especially the case, he added, as the Libyan private sector owns hospitals, clinics, and advanced analysis laboratories. These have proven their efficiency and emphasised their ability and willingness to provide good services in various medical specialties under the direct supervision of the regulatory authorities.
