The National Oil Corporation (NOC) announced yesterday that Mellitah Oil & Gas Company has completed maintenance and rehabilitation work on oil well R-3 at the Al-Rimal field.
The daily crude oil production rate reached 3,026 barrels with the pump operating at a frequency of 50 Hz, while the wellhead pressure was recorded at 310 psi.
The NOC said initial operational tests yielded encouraging results, demonstrating the success of the work performed, and the effectiveness of the technical solutions applied.
The work followed the execution of a comprehensive technical programme that included replacing completion equipment, re-perforating target zones, and installing an Electric Submersible Pump (ESP).
The NOC said this outstanding achievement aligns with the company’s commitment to well rehabilitation, enhancing operational efficiency, and maximizing the utilization of production assets. It supports the NOC's goal of sustaining production growth and reflects the successful collaboration and integration between technical teams and relevant departments.
