Union of Chambers hosts Spanish ambassador – discussions include Libyan Spanish Economic Forum to be held in Madrid in 2026

Libyan General Union of Chambers to lead delegation to Rome’s Arab Italian Trade Forum on 28 January 2025

Mohamed Al-Raied, President of the General Union of Libyan Chambers of Commerce hosted the Ambassador of Spain, Javier Soraya, at the Union’s Tripoli headquarters yesterday to discuss ways to consolidate and develop economic relations between the two countries.

Establishing serious, effective mechanism for developing economic relations
The meeting focused on establishing a serious and effective mechanism for developing and expanding economic relations between Libya and Spain in various fields and benefiting from Spain’s expertise and contributions to the reconstruction of Libya. It was also agreed to continue joint efforts to ensure the success and development of economic cooperation.

Facilitation of Schengen visas for businessmen
The possibility of facilitating Schengen visa procedures for Libyan businessmen was also discussed.

Libyan Spanish Economic Forum to be held in Madrid in 2026
The General Union said that in the coming days, a serious project will be presented to the Ambassador regarding the organisation of a Libyan Spanish Economic Forum to be held in Madrid in 2026.
