The National Development Agency (NDA) announced yesterday the approval of an industrial urban plan for "Zone 7," located northwest of Sirte, designated as an industrial zone.

The NDA said this comes as part of the enhancement of industrial and commercial investment opportunities and the creation of a comprehensive investment environment based on modern, approved urban plans. It is also part of addressing the Central Region’s (and specifically Sirte’s) need for organized industrial zones equipped to modern standards.

The NDA said this comes through coordination and cooperation between it and the Urban Planning Authority and the Council of Ministers, which issued Resolution No. (163) of 2026. This resolution approves an industrial urban plan for "Zone 7," located 7 km northwest of Sirte, and designates it as an industrial zone.

This decision, the NDA added, supports the comprehensive development process in Sirte and the Central Region, fosters a favourable climate for attracting industrial and commercial investments, and creates new opportunities for investors. These measures aim to stimulate economic activity, generate jobs, and support sustainable development in the region.
