Tripoli based Libyan Prime Minister, Abdel Hamid Aldabaiba held a meeting today to follow up on work progress on several projects, most notably the Bab al-Madina Investment Project in Tripoli.
The meeting included the Director General of the Libyan Local Investment and Development Fund (LLIDF) Mahmoud Ajaj, the Chairman and General Manager of the Long-Term Investment Portfolio (LTP) Abdel Fattah Ghaffar, the Director General of the Economic and Social Development Fund (ESDF) Yassin Al-Abiad, and the Director General of the Libyan Development and Investment Holding Company (LIDCO) Tarek Al-Shaafi.
The meeting discussed the measures taken to complete the project and reactivate its works, within the framework of the government's efforts to revive the stalled development projects, complete facilities of economic and service importance, and preserve the value of the implemented investments, after taking the necessary legal and contractual measures to move forward with its implementation.
The planned residential part includes the implementation of 547 apartments distributed over 15 buildings, on a land area of about 40 thousand square meters, within a general plan of the project that extends over about 190 thousand square meters. Concrete structures for eight residential blocks in the project have been completed, in addition to other construction works in various stages.
The government said the completion of the project comes as part of efforts to re-employ existing investments and push development projects towards implementation, in a way that supports economic activity, provides job opportunities, and contributes to the development of the region and the improvement of the urban landscape and services within the capital.
