The Libyan-Italian Chamber of Commerce inaugurated its office at Misrata Free Zone (MFZ) yesterday.

The inauguration was conducted by Ayman Al-Darwish, MFZ Director General, and Nicola Colicchi, President of the Libyan-Italian Chamber of Commerce.

MFZ said the opening marks a step toward strengthening Italian economic presence within the zone, establishing a direct institutional channel connecting Italian companies and investors with available investment opportunities.

It said the Chamber’s presence is expected to facilitate communication between the Libyan and Italian business communities, support Italian companies seeking to enter the Libyan market, and help them explore opportunities to establish economic, industrial, and logistics projects and partnerships.

MFZ added that the new office also represents a practical step toward strengthening economic cooperation between the two countries and moving trade relations beyond the exchange of interests toward the development of actual investment partnerships.

The opening of the Libyan-Italian Chamber of Commerce’s office at Misrata Free Zone coincides with the holding of the ‘‘Libyan-Italian Business and Investment Forum – Misrata 2026’’ which opened on the same day in the city of Misrata.
