The Tripoli based Libyan Minister of Transport (and Financial Advisor to the Prime Minister) Mohamed Al-Shahoubi, received the Maltese Ambassador to Libya, Charles Saliba at his Tripoli Ministry yesterday.
During the meeting, the two discussed ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in the field of transportation.
The two sides discussed joint coordination mechanisms to lift the ban on Libyan civil aviation in European airspace, which would contribute to Libya’s reintegration into European airspace.
The meeting also addressed ways to develop air traffic between the two countries by working to increase the number of direct flights between Libyan and Maltese airports, in addition to facilitating visa procedures for Libyan citizens, thus enhancing communication and exchange between the two sides.
For his part, the Minister stressed the importance of cooperation with European partners, primarily Malta, given its status as a pivotal gateway for Libya to Europe.
For his part, the Maltese Ambassador expressed his country’s aspiration to strengthen partnerships with Libya in various fields, particularly in the fields of transportation and aviation.
