Libyan Railroads to issue consultancy tender for Tripoli rail project

‎The Tripoli based Libyan government and its Transport Ministry reported yesterday that Mohamed Al-Shahoubi, the Minister of Transport and Financial Advisor to the Tripoli based Libyan Prime Minister, discussed with the Chairman of Libyan Railroads, the mechanisms for initiating the ‎‎implementation of a railway project in Tripoli.‎

‎To this end, Libyan Railroads was tasked with issuing a tender to a specialized consulting office to prepare the necessary technical studies and designs.

The Transport Ministry said this initiative comes as part of the government’s plan to develop the public transport sector infrastructure, and find solutions to traffic congestion, in a way that contributes to improving the quality of life and the services provided to citizens.‎
