Libya and Malta discussed organising a Libyan Maltese economic forum to enhance investment partnerships.
The matter was raised during the meeting of Tripoli based Libyan Minister of Oil and Gas, Khalifa Abdel Sadig, with the Ambassador of Malta to Libya, Charles Saliba, at the Ministry’s Tripoli office today.
The Ministry said the two sides discussed ways to enhance bilateral cooperation and expand the horizons of partnership in the field of oil, gas and energy, the public tender round for exploration and development.
The minister stressed that Libya is open and ready to attract foreign investments, especially in light of the National Oil Corporation’s efforts to raise production capacity to 2 million barrels per day, and the promising investment opportunities this represents.
Minister Khalifa called on the Maltese Embassy to coordinate with private sector companies in Malta and Libya to organise a Libyan Maltese economic forum, which will be a practical platform for exchanging experiences and strengthening partnerships to serve the interests of both countries.
