The outgoing Libyan Presidential Council of the Government of National Accord congratulated the Chairman of the National Oil Corporation (NOC), Mustafa Sanalla, and all those working in the oil sector, for winning the International Champions Award in the fight against corruption granted by the US Secretary of State Antony Blinken.
It affirmed in a statement issued today, that the NOC had played a key role in protecting oil resources, the lifeblood of the Libyan economy.
But it also reaffirmed its keenness on the impartiality and independence of the NOC and its continuation in following and supporting this policy until the elections scheduled for 24 December 2021.
In its statement, the Presidency Council stressed that the institution that manages oil affairs should not be politicized as the source of sustenance for the Libyans, and that it should not be used as a bargaining chip in any political arrangements.
