Sirte Oil Company for Production and Manufacturing of Oil and Gas has successfully brought well J-03 in the Metkhandosh field back into production, Libya’s state National Oil Corporation reported yesterday.

This follows the completion of the installation and commissioning of the electric submersible pump (ESP) artificial lift system, as part of the company's efforts to maintain production rates and enhance the production capacity of its oil fields.

The NOC reported that initial operational tests conducted after the completion of the commissioning work showed that the well achieved a production rate of approximately 1,630 barrels of oil per day. This, it added, reflects the efficiency of the technical work carried out, the stability of the well's performance, and the achievement of operational targets.

The NOC said this achievement is in line with its plan to maintain and increase oil production rates through the implementation of well development and rehabilitation programmes and the improvement of operational efficiency. This contributes to supporting the sustainability of production and enhancing the production capacity of the oil sector.
