Libya’s General Union of Chambers of Commerce reported yesterday that its delegation, headed by Chairman Saleh Al-Mabrouk Al-Obeidi, and accompanied by the Director General, concluded an official visit to Egypt that lasted several days.

The General Union said the visit was part of preparations and promotion efforts for the Libyan-Egyptian Business Forum scheduled to be held in the eastern city of Derna next October.

The visit included a series of meetings with several Egyptian economic figures, entities, and business leaders, with the aim of strengthening economic and trade cooperation between Libya and Egypt. The visit also aimed to open new horizons for partnership and investment that serve the interests of the private sector in both countries.

The General Union reported that mong the highlights of the visit was the meeting between its delegation and Medhat Al-Qadi, Chairman of the Alexandria Businessmen Association, where they discussed avenues for cooperation and mechanisms for the participation of Egyptian businessmen and companies in the Libyan-Egyptian Business Forum.

This participation is expected to contribute to the success of this important economic event and enhance investment opportunities and the establishment of commercial partnerships between the two sides.

The General Union reported that during its meetings its delegation affirmed that the Libyan-Egyptian Business Forum represents a promising economic platform for strengthening economic relations between the two countries, showcasing available investment opportunities, and encouraging direct communication between business leaders and economic institutions. This, in turn, will positively impact trade, investment, and development.

The General Union of Libyan Chambers reported that this visit comes within its framework to enhance regional cooperation and solidify economic partnerships with Arab economic institutions and bodies, thereby contributing to supporting economic development and serving the business community in Libya.
