Direct flights between Benghazi and Rome and Milan to be launched in early June

Direct flights between Benghazi and Rome and Milan are scheduled to be launched in early June.

The announcement was made yesterday ‎following a meeting in Benghazi between Belgassim Khalifa Haftar, Director General of the Libya Development and Reconstruction Fund, and the high-level Italian aviation delegation.

The delegation included the Ambassador of Italy to Libya, Gianluca Alberini, the Italian Consul General in Benghazi, Francesco Luigi, along with the President of the Italian Civil Aviation Authority, Pierluigi Di Palma, and the representative of Italian Airlines ITA, Francesco Presicce, in addition to diplomats and representatives of Italian airlines, air handling, air traffic control and ground services.‎

‎The Libya Development and Reconstruction Fund reported that the meeting took place in the presence of the Director General of Benina Airport, officials of the Civil Aviation Authority, the Port Department, Customs and Passports,

The meeting reviewed the results of previous visits and discussed the final preparations for the launch of the direct air route between Benghazi and Rome and Milan, scheduled to be launched in early June.‎

‎This Fund recalled that this meeting is the second of its kind after the meeting that brought together Belgassim Khalifa Haftar with the Italian delegation in the capital, Rome, in December 2024.‎
