Qatari UCC and LIA discuss development of Mitiga’s 10 million passenger eastern terminal

The Tripoli based Libyan Transport Ministry reported yesterday that last Tuesday (13 August) its Minister of Transport, Mohamed Al-Shahoubi, met on Tuesday at the Ministry’s Tripoli office with the Libyan Investment Authority (LIA) and a representative of the Qatari company UCC.

‎The ‎‎meeting, the Transport Ministry reported, came within the framework of searching for ways of financing and implementing major strategic projects, the most important of which is the project to complete Mitiga’s eastern passenger terminal with a capacity of 10 million passengers per year with all its accessories.‎

‎The LIA and UCC, the Ministry reported, had expressed their interest in entering into a project to finance, operate and deliver this facility. ‎

‎The Ministry said the Minister stressed the importance of this project economically and in service for the benefit of the state and the citizen and promised to support them and provide all the facilities required to complete the project.‎
