A delegation from Malta consisting of the Maltese Civil Aviation, Medavia and operating company Universal/Global Air conducted an inspection visit of Benghazi’s Benina airport last Wednesday.

The visit is with a view to Medavia operating direct charter flights from Malta International Airport to Benina airport.

The delegation was received by the Assistant General Manager of Benina International Airport, the Airport Port Security Director, the Head of the Airport Centre, the Inspector of Aviation Safety from the Libyan Civil Aviation Authority and other directors and heads of departments of Benina Airport Administration.

Benina airport reported that the delegation conducted an inspection tour inside the airport facilities to get acquainted with the operating procedures in terms of security and safety. They also assessed the extent of their compliance with local and international specifications and standards and the services available inside the airport.

The inspection tour was to conduct the internationally recognized auditing process and prepare a report on the state of the airport’s suitability to receive Medavia flights.
