Benghazi’s Benina Airport reported today that it hosted a high-level delegation from the British Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) last Wednesday 8 July.

The FCDO delegation was met by the Director General of Benina International Airport, Saleh Jibril Al-Amrouni, along with the Director of Security, the Head of Passport Control and the Head of Customs at the Airport.

Benina Airport reported that the meeting addressed efforts to enhance civil aviation between the two countries.

It reported that the FCDO delegation commended the Benina International Airport administration for its commitment to implementing the highest standards of security, safety, and technical procedures at the airport.

During the meeting, the delegation inquired with the head of airport passport control about the entry and exit procedures for foreigners, the operation of the security system, and how the issue of illegal immigration is handled.

The head of passport control explained to the delegation that passport control procedures are carried out smoothly and accurately, with efficient and highly prepared procedures in accordance with the airport's established protocols.

The delegation also expressed their admiration for the development and modernization of the airport, including the improved efficiency of vital facilities, which enhances the airport's readiness to a high standard and prepares it for future phases of development, ensuring its compliance with international civil aviation standards.

Benina airport's general manager, in turn, emphasized its commitment to implementing the highest security and safety standards and providing all necessary facilities. He noted that this visit was an important step towards strengthening cooperation between the two countries and opening new horizons in the field of civil aviation.
