The head of the Executive Team for Strategic Initiatives and Projects, Mustafa Al-Manea, reviewed the final preparations for launching the Greater Tripoli Master Plan during a meeting with the international consortium tasked with preparing the plan.
The Tripoli government said this follows the completion of all necessary procedures and the receipt of approvals from regulatory bodies, with the participation of specialized international companies and consultancies.
The meeting addressed the technical and organizational arrangements for commencing project implementation, the work methodology and its phases, and mechanisms for assessing the current situation and coordinating with relevant national entities.
The consortium comprises international companies and consultants from the United States and the United Kingdom, including GCCI, Cedar, EY, Woolpert, and Merrett, in addition to entities specializing in urban planning, engineering, consulting, and project management.
The plan aims to address the challenges of urban expansion in Greater Tripoli, regulate land use, open new residential developments, and develop infrastructure, transportation networks, and services.
This will support development and investment, improve the quality of life, and preserve the historical identity of the capital.
The meeting stressed the need to implement the project according to a scientific methodology and international standards, in order to ensure implementable outputs that respond to the needs and priorities of Greater Tripoli.
