Privately owned Libyan airliner, Medsky, is making progress in discussions to launch direct flights to Bosnia Herzegovina’s capital Sarajevo.
The revelation came today during the meeting between Abubaker Ibrahim Al-Taweel, Director of the European Affairs Department of the Tripoli based Foreign Ministry and Senaduddin Tatarvech, Chargé d’dffaires of the Embassy of Bosnia and Herzegovina to Libya.
Chargé Tatarvech expressed the Bosnian side’s welcome for the establishment of a direct air link between the two countries.
He also noted the progress made in discussions between Med Sky and the Bosnian side regarding the operation of direct flights between Sarajevo and Tripoli.
Tatarvech explained that the launch of a direct air route would contribute to facilitating travel between the two countries, promoting official visits by officials across various sectors, as well as enhancing trade, economic, and tourism exchanges between the two countries.
During the meeting, the two sides affirmed that Libyan-Bosnian relations are historical, stressing the importance of developing and strengthening them in a manner that serves the shared interests of the two friendly peoples.
In this context, the Chargé d’dffaires stressed the importance of exchanging visits between officials of the two countries across various fields.
The two sides also discussed the importance of addressing all outstanding issues in a manner that would contribute to strengthening and further developing bilateral relations between the two friendly countries.
Existing flights
It will be recalled that MedSky already operates direct charter flights to Malta, Milan, Rome, Athens, Madrid, Dusseldorf and Paris. It is discussing a flight to London.
Meanwhile, Libyan Express launched three flights to Malta, Rome and Milan today.
