Tripoli Chamber of Commerce discusses with Malaysian delegation increased cooperation and participation in MIHAS 2026

Tripoli Chamber of Commerce received a trade delegation from Malaysia at its Tripoli headquarters last Thursday (23 April). The delegation was participating in the 52nd Tripoli International Fair. The meeting was attended by the Chairman of the Chamber, Anwar Abusitta, and board members Essam Al-Jahani and Saad Al-Dhawi.

MIHAS: the 22nd Malaysia International Halal Showcase – 23-26 Sept 2026
During the meeting, the Malaysian delegation extended a formal invitation to the Tripoli Chamber of Commerce to participate in MIHAS, the 22nd Malaysia International Halal Showcase held in Kuala Lumpur from 23-26 Sept 2026.

Participation in the MIHAS is expected to enhance the presence of Libyan companies in Asian markets and open broader avenues for trade cooperation.

Bilateral meetings held during the 52nd Tripoli International Fair 2026
The Malaysian delegation also expressed its gratitude to the Tripoli Chamber of Commerce for its efforts in coordinating between Libyan and Malaysian companies on the sidelines of the Tripoli International Fair, emphasizing that the bilateral meetings held were fruitful and contributed to strengthening opportunities for cooperation.

Enhancing private sector cooperation
On a wider perspective, the meeting addressed ways to enhance economic and trade cooperation between Libya and Malaysia, particularly within the private sector. Discussions also focused on mechanisms to develop relations between Libyan and Malaysian companies, aiming to open new avenues for cooperation and investment.

Both sides stressed the importance of intensifying efforts to boost the economy by activating the role of the private sector and encouraging investment, in a way that serves mutual interests and strengthens the economic partnership between the two countries.

Organising further economic exhibitions and conferences
An agreement was also reached during the meeting to follow up on joint activities and strengthen coordination in organizing further economic exhibitions and conferences between the two countries. This was with the aim of supporting networking opportunities for businesspeople and companies.
