The Libyan Business Council (LBC) announced last Tuesday (25 June) that it had held a meeting on the same day at its Tripoli headquarters of several delegations participating in the activities of the French-Libyan Business Forum, scheduled to be held on 3 July in Paris. ‎

The meeting came at the invitation of the new LBC Executive Director, Alaref Gagigi, to discuss several regulatory issues to ensure the best positive return from the forum.‎

The LBC stated that the event comes in light of the remarkable improvement in economic conditions in Libya and to international companies showing increasing interest in seeking possible business opportunities in the promising Libyan market.

This, it continued, comes at a vital time for Libya’s economy as it is witnessing sustained growth with economic growth expected to increase by 4.8% this year, according to the International Monetary Fund. ‎

This economic improvement, it added, is attracting the interest of companies from around the world, including French companies, which are expected to play an important role in the transfer of knowledge and technology and strengthen partnership with the Libyan private sector.‎
