Sirte and BACB to improve cooperation

The Media Office of Sirte Oil and Gas Company informed Libya Herald that the company’s plan to raise production is being activated within the target set by the National Oil Corporation of 2 million barrels per day by 2026.

To this end, Sirt Oil Company Chairman, Mustafa Hammad, held a meeting with Fayez Tatanaki, General Manager of the Challenger Drilling Company to discuss joint work related to plot NC101 in the Murzuq Basin.

The Media Office confirmed that drilling at exploration well E3-NC101 using the Challenger 27 rig had actually started. Drilling will also proceed at five other wells in the same area, which will have a role in evaluating the area and ensuring the presence of oil reserves in it, in addition to identifying oil reservoirs.

Maintenance of previously drilled wells started
The Media Office explained that last July, the beginning of the maintenance of the previously drilled wells began. These wells, numbering 9 wells, will be returned to production and tested for their productivity. One of these wells was completed and another well entered maintenance using the maintenance platform Lorasco 25. Based on their results, an integrated plan will be prepared to develop these fields for production.

All these activities will contribute to training and qualifying Libyan cadres and raising the efficiency of the national workforce, the Media Office added.
