Sirte and BACB to improve cooperation

Sirte Oil and Gas Production and Manufacturing Company said Monday that it had met with Pavilion Renewable Energy Group Company last Sunday to cooperate in the field of environmental protection in oil areas, benefiting from the accompanying water.

Part of NOC environmental directive
The Director of the Office of the Chairman of Sirte Oil and Gas Production Company, Mohamed Hussein, stated in an exclusive interview with Libya Herald that the Chairman of Sirte Oil, Mustafa Hammad, received Sunday a delegation from Pavilion Company, as part of a series of meetings aimed at paying attention to preserving the environment in the oil regions and sites. This comes within the National Oil Corporation’s directives for developing oil and gas fields, field infrastructure, and the Sirte Oil industrial complex.

Benefiting from oil associated water
Hussein noted that the meeting discussed ways of cooperation in environmental protection and benefiting from the water associated with the oil in the Zaltan field after it was treated in various fields after being injected into the Wahat reservoir in the Al-Jabal field. They also discussed the possibility of using these large quantities of water in agriculture and spatial development, in addition to benefiting from the quantities of water associated with the Brega reservoirs, treating it, producing desalinated water, and contributing to the operation of the industrial complex.

Substitute carbon dioxide for water injection
Sirte Oil Company, Hussein explained, will work to import modern technologies to produce carbon dioxide gas and inject it into the Zaltan reservoir to preserve the environment surrounding its oil sites and to protect workers in the fields and residents in the surrounding areas from any risks that may be caused by oil operations.
