The Libya Development and Reconstruction Fund announced today that its Director General, Belgassem Khalifa Haftar, signed ‘‘strategic partnership agreements with a group of the largest leading American companies in multiple fields’’.‎

The Fund says this is a strategic move that reflects the growing US-Libyan relationship, strengthens reconstruction efforts and accelerates development.‎

‎The Fund says these agreements cover cooperation in vital and influential sectors, including:‎

‎ • Health, through the development of health infrastructure and enhancing the quality of medical services.‎

‎ • Managing infrastructure and reconstruction projects, in accordance with the best international standards.‎

‎ • Artificial intelligence and modern technologies, in line with global technological transformations and serving national development goals.‎

‎The Fund says the signing comes as part of a comprehensive plan led by it to modernise vital sectors, attract international expertise, and deepen strategic partnerships between Libya and the United States.‎

‎This cooperation, it adds, reflects the keenness of the two parties to strengthen bilateral relations and open new horizons for cooperation in the paths of reconstruction and sustainable development, in order to serve common interests.‎

No further official details were provided by the Hafter run Fund and it is unclear if these are indeed newly signed agreements or the republication of previously reported agreements.
