The Libyan-Spanish Economic Forum (23-24 April), organized by the Libyan General Union of Chambers of Commerce in conjunction with the Spanish Chamber of Commerce, commenced yesterday in Madrid.
The General Union of Chambers said the forum saw high-level participation from government officials and representatives from both the public and private sectors of Libya, reflecting efforts to strengthen bilateral cooperation and develop joint economic relations.
The General Union said the forum is being held at a crucial time, as the Tripoli government seeks to expand its international partnerships and diversify its economy. It added that this coincides with growing Spanish interest in exploring promising investment opportunities in the Libyan market, particularly in vital and priority sectors.
The General Union said the forum served as a strategic platform to explore prospects for cooperation in several key areas, including:
– Energy
-Infrastructure
-Trade
-Transportation
Discussions also focused on investment opportunities, knowledge transfer, and enhancing economic integration between the two sides.
The diverse and professional participation of attendees included a select group of experts, business leaders, and representatives from leading institutions and companies, demonstrating the commitment of both parties to forging sustainable partnerships based on shared interests.
The forum is expected to contribute to opening new horizons for Libyan-Spanish cooperation, and enhance investment and trade opportunities, thus supporting economic development and achieving mutual benefit for both countries.
