The head of Libya’s General Board of Fairs, Essam Al-Aoul, received at his Tripoli International Fairgrounds headquarters yesterday a delegation from the Spanish Embassy in Tripoli. The Spanish delegation included Ms. Sonsoles Valle, Head of the Economic and Commercial Office of the Embassy in Libya and Tunisia, and Ms. Felicitas Garcia, Market Analyst at the Economic and Commercial Office at the Embassy.‎

‎Participation in the 51st Tripoli International Fair
The meeting discussed the participation of Spain in the fifty-first session of the Tripoli International Fair (usually held in April/May), in addition to reviewing ways to enhance trade cooperation between the two countries and organising parallel events such as international specialised exhibitions planned for 2025. ‎The Spanish embassy underscored the Spanish economic sector’s keen interest in participating in upcoming fairs in Libya.

The Spanish delegation also toured the Libya Food Fair (26 to 29 January), which is currently being held at the Tripoli International Fairgrounds, where they were briefed on the pavilions of the participating local and international companies.‎ The Spanish embassy said their delegation were able to witness firsthand the growing interest among Libyan companies and consumers in Spanish food products.

‎The General Board of Fairs reported that the Spanish delegation praised the quality of the organisation and the level of exhibits, considering this a reflection of the remarkable development in the exhibition and conference sector in Libya.‎

First Spanish delegation of companies to visit Libya in over a decade
As a symbol of the strengthening ties between the two countries, a delegation of Spanish companies will visit Libya next week—the first such visit in over a decade.
