Libya’s Emergency Medicine and Support Centre (EMSC) announced today that a Spanish team specializing in epidemiology and water analysis and technology was arrived in eastern Libya to help with the post-Storm Daniel recovery.
The EMSC reported that the Spanish team has carried out work for the Beida Biotechnology Centre, visited the city of Sousse and met with the mayor of Sousse Municipality. After completing the meeting, the Spanish team visited Sousse desalination plant.
The EMSC reported that the Spanish team arrived in Libya after communication and coordination with the Libyan Ambassador to Spain.
Three aid planes arrived from Spain
It will be recalled that on Monday a third plane sent by the Libyan Embassy in Spain arrived in Libya carrying humanitarian aid for the Flood Daniel effort. It carried 15 tons of medical equipment, mostly from the Spanish Defence Ministry, and the epidemiological team.
Two planes arrived on the 13 carrying almost 100 rescue teams and dogs. On 15 September Spanish oil giant Repsol sent another plane with around 30 more rescue teams.
