The Chairman of the Benghazi-based Reconstruction and Stabilisation Committee, Hatem Al-Araibi, together with the eastern-based (and internationally not recognised) Libyan Prime Minister, Osama Hamad, met several representatives of Egyptian companies in Libya on Wednesday.

During the meeting, the heads of the committee and the ministers stressed the necessity of starting reconstruction in the city of Derna and its suburbs after the completion of search and rescue operations, stressing the need to accelerate projects in the city, because of their importance in providing services to citizens in the affected areas.

Tripoli government also discusses reconstruction
In a similar vein, the internationally recognised Tripoli-based Libyan government Minister of Local Government and Head of the Government Emergency and Rapid Response Team, Bader Aldeen al-Tumi, held two separate meetings on Tuesday, at the Ministry’s Tripoli headquarters, with the German Ambassador to Libya, Michael Ohnmacht, and the Italian Ambassador to Libya, Gianluca Alberini. At both meetings the reconstruction of the Flood Daniel-hit areas of eastern Libya was discussed.
