The Italian Pavilion will host 17 companies exhibiting at the Libya Construction Expo 2026 – from 8 to 11 November at the Tripoli International Fairgrounds, the Tripoli Office of the Italian Trade Agency (ITA/ICE) confirmed to Libya Herald.
The Italian Pavilion’s exhibition space covers an area of 230 sq m, where each company will have a dedicated booth of 12 sq m to present its production and welcome professionals and visitors.
The 17 participating companies operate in the construction and furnishing sectors, including construction machinery, engineering firms, and furniture and design companies. An official ITA (ICE) institutional area is also set up to welcome visitors and facilitate B2B meetings.
ITA said this edition marks a historic debut for it as for the first time, the Exhibition is hosting an Italian Pavilion, organized by the ITA Tripoli Office. Working in constant synergy with the network of Italian Embassies worldwide, this government agency is at the forefront of the international promotion of the "Made in Italy" brand, it added.
"We are particularly proud to host so many leading companies within the Italian Pavilion, which features a carefully curated and elegant design to provide a pleasant experience for visitors and delegations," commented the Director of the ITA Tripoli Office, Libero Tessitore, ahead of the event.
"This year, as we celebrate 100 years of the Italian Trade Agency, the role of this institution proves to still be crucial: global markets are evolving, giving rise to new challenges that companies—especially SMEs—must face with the right tools to compete abroad. In a fast-evolving global arena, ITA’s commitment through organizing Italian pavilions at leading international exhibitions and incoming buyer programs to Italy remains a key factor to match supply and demand and create tangible opportunities for international growth."
Italy’s Ambassador to Libya, Gianluca Alberini, expressed satisfaction with the significant Italian presence at the exhibition:
‘We are proud to bring a high-profile delegation of leading Italian companies to the Libya Construction Expo, showcasing their products and services across the entire building supply chain—from construction machinery to elegant, high-end fixtures such as premium doors and windows. This clearly shows how Made in Italy excellence can be fully integrated into local development plans, across both commercial and residential projects.
The Italian presence will be further highlighted by the participation of Architect Alessandro Colombo in the technical panel sessions at the Design and Architecture Forum (DAF). Appointed “Ambassador of Italian Design in the World” by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Colombo will join the sessions on November 9, sharing insights into the latest innovations in design and illustrating how Italian craftsmanship can evolve into internationally recognized brands, bringing local excellence to the global market.
I consider the Italian participation as proof of an ongoing process that is gradually bringing more and more companies ready to explore the Libyan market.
The main goal of the Embassy of Italy and the Italian Trade Agency is to consolidate and expand Italian participation with ever-larger national pavilions, gradually involving new sectors in the main exhibitions in Libya. I warmly invite all visitors to discover these Italian excellences and visit our Pavilion.’
