Benghazi opens five newly constructed bridges

During lavish celebrations, the city of Benghazi opened its five newly constructed bridges yesterday.

The opening ceremony was attended by Khalifa Hafter, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Ageela Saleh, his First and Second Deputies, the Prime Minister of the eastern based Libyan Government, a group of members of the House of Representatives, the Chairman of the Reconstruction and Stabilization Committee, Hatem Al-Araibi, the Executive Director of the Fund for the Reconstruction of Derna and Affected Areas, Belkacem Khalifa Haftar, and a group of military and security leaders, diplomats, and representatives of foreign and local companies implementing the bridges.

The Reconstruction and Stabilization Committee reported that these openings come within a package of reconstruction, building and construction projects, implemented by the Reconstruction and Stabilization Committee.

Bridges of strategic importance
Speaking exclusively to Libya Herald in August this year on the progress of the five bridges, the head of the Reconstruction and Stabilization Committee, Hatem Al-Araibi, said that the five bridges project are among the most strategic priorities.
