Tripoli based Libyan Undersecretary of the Ministry of Defence, Abdelsalam Al-Zoubi, met in Rome today with Italian Defence Minister Guido Crosetto.
The Tripoli government reported that the meeting discussed bilateral relations between Libya and Italy, as well as ways to enhance military and security cooperation, with a focus on developing the Ministry of Defence’s military capabilities, supporting security coordination efforts, and enhancing cooperation in training and improving the efficiency of military personnel.
The discussions also addressed regional and Mediterranean security issues, along with several issues of common interest, reflecting both sides’ commitment to expanding the scope of the strategic partnership.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the two sides emphasized the importance of continued coordination and consultation to serve common interests, support security and stability efforts in the region, and enhance the depth of military and security cooperation between Libya and Italy.
