The Libyan Air Ambulance service announced that it is coordinating with other emergency services to reach internationally approved rapid response standards.
To this end, the Libyan Air Ambulance conducted a joint simulation operation on Tripoli’s motorway on 8 November to a critical case by air when the case cannot be reached by ambulance due to traffic congestion.
The simulation operation was conducted in cooperation with Tripoli Security Directorate, the Emergency Medicine and Support Centre (EMSC), the General Services Company and Al-Hadba Al-Khadra General Hospital.
The simulation included training in response from the first report of an incident and then communication between the concerned operating rooms until the admission of the injured case to the hospital. This, Air Ambulance service explained, was to enhance coordination between all concerned agencies and ensure the complementarity of their roles.
This simulation, the Libyan Air Ambulance service said, aims to reach rapid response levels to internationally approved standards in order to preserve the lives of citizens.
It will be noted that Libya has one of the highest road traffic accident and mortality rates in the world.
