Libya’s Emergency Medicine and Support Centre (EMSC) announced last Monday (14 July) that the first training programme was launched in Washington DC for several EMSC cadres from various offices in Libya.
The training comes as part of the ongoing efforts to improve the level of emergency services and enhance national preparedness to respond to crises and part of a strategic move aimed at strengthening the capabilities of the emergency sector, the EMSC said.
It will be recalled that the Director General of the EMSC, Dr. Tariq Abdel Salam Al-Hamshari, signed last April a cooperation agreement between the EMSC and Georgetown University, in Washington DC.
This agreement aims to transfer knowledge, qualify Libyan cadres, and raise their efficiency in the field of emergency response. The training programme comes within the framework of activating the agreement Georgetown University.
